Description of Schizostylis coccinea Major - Moerasgladiool

De Schizostylis, ook wel Kaapse lelie genoemd, is een wintergroene, krachtige vaste plant die van nature groeit langs waterkanten en in vochtige weiden. Een tiental prachtige bloemen verzamelt zich aan de stengel in een aarvormige bloeiwijze. De bloemen zijn stervormig en hebben een rode kleur. Deze bloei doet denken aan die van een gladiool.
